Tailored suits are as versatile as it gets and they are still here and in full force for spring/summer 2020. Whether you want to try the menswear-inspired gray suit, a shorts suit or an ultra-feminine pink pant suit, there’s a take on the look for everyone who wants to try it. My all-time favorite way to wear suits is by dressing them down, so here are some tips on how to wear a women’s suit casually.
#1 Split-up the pieces
The easiest way to wear a women’s suit casually is to split up the pieces and mix them with other suit pieces to add contrast.
#2 Mix with denim and other casual fabrics
Men have the option of wearing their tailored blazers with polo shirts, v-necks, t-shirts and transform their suits from casual to formal in no time. That’s no different for ladies. Mixing a pair of tailored trousers with a denim jacket, or a suit blazer with jeans gives a more laid-back feel to your outfit.
#3 How to wear a women’s suit casually: SNEAKERS
Wearing your suit with a plain t-shirt and sneakers is a great way to dress it down and to make the look feel not so buttoned-up. That’s my go-to styling to wear a women’s suit casually.
#4 Wear it with shorts
I love the result of mixing a blazer with matching or non-matching shorts, or a mini skirt. You can pair it with boots for a more edgy look.
#5 Don’t over-accessorize
Suits are statement-making on their own so there is no need for bold jewelry in my opinion. A nice bag would be all you need.
#6 Cinch it with a belt or belt-bag
Adding a belt or a belt-bag over an oversized blazer will accentuate your waist and elevate your look into something unique and stylish.
#7 Add a bra-top for a night out
Style your suit with a lace bra or bra top and serve sexy, cool vibes for a night out.
Style-tip: Push up the sleeves of your jackets for a more feminine look (with just a simple one-step roll, not by folding them up).
