Tie dye is not a new trend, but every time it comes back around it just keeps getting better and better. It’s mostly associated with the 60s and hippies but it is really much more than that. So how about a tie dye beach look today?
I’ve always had a thing for tie dye (my oldest piece of clothing is a blue-red-yellow dress with a peace sign on it I’ve had since I was nine). The years passed, and more classic prints like stripes and florals became a favorite of mine, as they’re closer to my personal style. But I always love a good tie dye piece and enjoy styling it.
There is a hesitation with the print though, which I understand as it can be very literal and read quite young, but when designers like Altuzarra, Fausto Puglisi, Michael Kors and Rodarte have taken it to another level. When you see designs like theirs, it makes you think about tie dye in a whole new way. Once again, tie made its rounds again for Resort 2017 with Acne Studios.
This black and white kaftan is easy to style and one of my go-to choices this summer for a tie dye beach look. It’s perfect for the beach and for the restaurant afterwards, with a little bit of help with the necessary accessories. I wore mine with my amazing hat from Lack of Color (I am so obsessed with it, and it’s on sale if you are obsessed too with fine straw hats), my Cult Gaia bag, a pair of AGS sandals, my signature Ray-Ban sunnies and a few minimal gold jewelry. Now that the summer is coming to an end, I think it’s safe to say that this bag and that hat have been my favorite summer accessories. How do you like this tie dye beach look?
On another note, this was my first post on the blog without makeup. Just lipstick. It felt so good that it certainly won’t be the last.
What do you think of the tie dye trend? Would you wear it? If so, what are some of your favorite dyed pieces right now? Would you wear them in Fall / Winter too? I look forward to read your thoughts in the comments below.

Stella, I’m loving your beach vibes. I love your black and white kaftan, it’s so chic. And you styled it perfectly. By the way, your skin is flawless! Doesn’t it feel good to go make up free during the summer? I feel like foundation just clogs up my pores with the heat and humidity. So I often go make up free too. Hope you’re having a great week.

Thank you Jackie! You are right, makeup free is so liberating! In my daily life I almost never wear. Maybe a tad of concealer and a mascara and that’s all. Especially during summer in Mykonos, with 38 Celsius degrees and 90% humidity haha. But it was the first time taking photos with no makeup for the blog and I really enjoyed it. Thanks for stopping by and have a great rest of the week! xoxo
Lack of Colour does such great hats; I’ve always loved their designs. This one is just amazing on you. You really make tie-dye look chic and casual at the same time. I like this trend because I don’t see it EVERYWHERE on Instagram.
All of these photos are so beautiful and peaceful, though I see you had the same windy weather that we had here! I felt like a flag in my last blog post, haha! Wishing you a lovely end to the week, beautiful. By the way, you don’t even need makeup! xx

You are so right Lisa, that’s true, I barely remember a couple of times only that I have seen tie dye looks on instagram too. And yes the weather is like this 8-10 beaufort wind every day lately! I have had my fair share of embarrassment lately, while wearing dresses here hahaha. Now shorts is a must underneath every dress and skirt. Thank you and have a great rest of the week! PS: Can’t wait to catch up with your blog! xoxo
You finally got time to go to the beach, ha? ?I’m so happy to see your photos from the beach. You look absolutely divine, proving you can wear any print. And your skin is so beautiful too.
About the tie dye print. I actually don’t have any piece in this print. I only had one t-shirt that was DIY dyed for some dance preformance back then when I was still in the elementary school. Imagine the school play and bunch of kids trying to keep up and make the same moves at the same time, all wearing the tie dye shirt and bell low waist jeans. A totall failure. Well after that I have never looked at the tie dye print again. Perhaps it’s time for me to move on. I mean the designer tie dye and the tie dye shirt made by an elementary school teacher have nothing in common ?

I’m loving the tie dye look on you. Love the photos too. Your skin is so flawless my dear, that the no makeup look looks wonderful. But surely you moisturize. But which do you use? Some days I treat my face to Estěe Lauder’s Supreme Light; but mainly wear Boot’s own Simply Sensitive. Much less expensive.
