Goodbye Summer – Instagram Recap

And just when you think time cannot fly any quicker, you wake up one day and it’s September 8th! Whaaat? It seems like yesterday when I was packing to come to Mykonos, and that goes back to April! How did this happen? Well they say a picture is worth a thousand words, and taking a look back on my Instagram feed (and my Moleskine daily work planner), it’s quite obvious how.

You will probably notice that I haven’t been to the beach more than two times, and I look like freaking Snow White which is outrageous when you live in an island with more than 30 beaches! But that’s just the way it goes when you work in one of the most well-known and visited summer destinations in the world. And I don’t mind at all because I had always been working during summer and this one was actually an amazing one! One thing’s for sure: Gone are the days when my only concerns were to keep count of how many ice creams I had and how many times I went to the beach. We all did that when we were kids right?

I may not have had vacation like most people do during summer, but who can complain when living and working at such a beautiful place like Mykonos? I may not have summer vacation but I give all of me to offer to our guests the vacations of their dreams in Mykonos, and tell me crazy but I love that and find it so self-rewarding. And most of all, this summer I’ve learned so many new things and had the chance to develop in many levels that I had focused on. What’s more, I got to meet some of the most wonderful people I have met in my entire life!

Of course it’s not all sparkles and rainbows. There will always be hardships, difficulties and disappointment but you have the power to turn them into opportunities, lessons and hope, by keeping a positive mindset and feeling grateful for your blessings every single day. Now it’s time to see some dear friends and family and for the beginning of a most anticipated new chapter in my life.

So how was your summer like? What are you feeling grateful for today? I would be very happy to read about it in the comments below. And feel free to ask anything you’d like to know!

Thank you so much for reading and I wish you a happy, blessed fall season!

Your summer looked amazing! The Greek Islands are so beautiful, what a great place to work for the summer… I’m yet to have a summer holiday but I’m heading to Greece next month and I can’t wait. I love your attitude towards hardships, as we do all face them at times, I agree it’s definitely important to try to keep a positive mindset and be grateful for your blessings. That always helps me to pick myself back up too. I hope you also have a great Fall!
