With summer just around the corner and with the spring summer 2016 fashion trends having moved from the catwalks of fashion shows to all around the world, I have teamed up with Farfetch to share with you my favorite ones. Today I’ll show you looks that will take you from spring to summer in elegance and supreme style. You wouldn’t want to miss out on this!
I have always loved ruffles, stripes and cold shoulder dresses since I was a little girl, so I couldn’t quite create just one look. So scroll down and get inspired for your upcoming garden parties, chilled afternoons and long summer evenings.
If graphic stripes are your thing, then this is your season! So many designers opted for the graphic stripes in their collections like Marc Jacobs, Tommy Hilfiger, J Crew, Stella McCartney, Dolce & Gabbana and many more.
Don’t be afraid to implement the stripe hype on your outfit, whether they be horizontal, vertical, or a cool mix & match of both. From swirly and bold to irregular and unconventional – the visual vibrancy of stripes is here to stay.
Pyjama & Boudoir
Am I the only one who has dreamed of wearing pajamas in public? This is my favorite trend from spring summer 2016 fashion. I just looove the relaxed silhouettes of pajama dressing, which definitely took style and comfort to a whole new level! Such a cool, fresh and relaxed style!
Dip a toe into this trend by wearing silky robes and bra or cami tops, floral pajama sets, as worn by fashion heroes like Alexa Chung, Jenna Lyons and Leandra Medine.
Here’s some inspiration for those of you who are all about this fashion fad.
The Cold Shoulder
The cold shoulder trend has been popular with the world’s most stylish women for decades. An impressive number of designers showcased tops and dresses with cold shoulder details for spring summer 2016 fashion. I have always been a great fan of this style and here’s why: Shoulder baring is sexy without being obvious and very chic without yelling for attention.
From denim tops, to sheer chiffon and shoulder cutout sweaters, if a designer had the chance to show them off, they took it!
No matter what your size or body type, the perfect off-the-shoulder piece is out there for you. So go shopping and I’ll show you how to make it chic and classy!
Ruffles & Romance
As seen in numerous fashion houses like Naeem Khan, Roberto Cavalli, Rosie Assoulin, Proenza Shouler and Oscar de la Renta, designers have fully embraced this party ready trend. Ruffles have become a key detail for spring summer 2016 fashion! Exaggerated flounce, cascading layers, loose trim and delicate details where all over the shows.
What I love about this trend is how beautifully these garments can frame the face or spiral off the hips, and the fact that they add drama, which makes them perfect for evening looks! Warning: Not all of them work appropriate. Quantity and quality are key factors here.
So what’s your favorite fashion trend for spring summer 2016, and which of these sets you’d love to wear?
Thank you for stopping by & I look forward to reading your thoughts!
