Pink and yellow is such a cheery color combination that is perfect for spring and summer. You don’t see these two colors together very often but they actually make a really cute ‘tropical’ kind of look when worn together in one outfit. I find that the best shades that work really well together on a pink and yellow outfit are either fuchsia pink and mustard yellow or a combo of pastel, like I did here.
This Chanel skirt is part of a suit, that I found on a vintage store in Rome, last September. The original length of the skirt was just above the knee, which I didn’t like much since it looked odd on me. I love midi and knee skirts but this one did not fit like a midi, nor a mini. So I took my suit to a Chanel boutique in Paris where they altered the skirt. They informed that this vintage suit is a true gem, and where impressed by its pristine condition. After the alteration of the skirt and a meticulous steam cleaning, it really looks and feels like brand new! And it’s officially vintage, since it’s from 1987 spring/summer collection, exactly 30 years old.
I had planned an outfit with the whole Chanel vintage suit, but since the weather in Paris has switched back to winter mode lately, I had to adapt. I wore just the skirt, toned it down with this cool t-shirt, and added pink with this lovely coat from Mango (also worn here). I finished my look with my new Chloé bag, which I bought for my wedding day (wedding look & photos coming soon), and my favorite Valentino rockstud slingbacks. How do you like my pink and yellow outfit?
What about you? What’s your favorite color comb lately? Tell me in the comments below!

What luck, to have found this beautiful vintage Chanel skirt! I love the combination of the soft pink and yellow and you look stunning in this short skirt! No need to hide your legs girl! This is a beautiful look on you! Happy weekend ahead, Stella!
I am so happy you like it Yvonne! I will definitely wear shorter skirts more often 🙂 This Chanel skirt was a great find, especially to find it during my birthday 😉 Have a great start to the weekend my dear and thanks for stopping by! xo
Yes they do! Thanks for the inspo.

Thanks Melanie, check that one from Mango, I bought it recently after thorough research at this price range and it was the best option 😉
Oooh! Pink and yellow. My favorite colours. Especially yellow after seeing you in your Moms dress. The prettiest dress I’ve ever seen. And now I’m loving that cute little skirt. Colours in my wardrobe revolve around crisp whites; darķ navy blues, reds, pink. Oh, and little prints. Maybe I should experiment with something in yellow.
This was the yellow outfit I had promised you, but the weather was not the best to wear the whole suit, but I will do it one day 🙂 I had also planned a photo shoot with your favourite dress, but that plan did not work out either haha. Your wardrobe sounds perfect to me my dear Jo! Wishing you a wonderful weekend with your friends! xo
I already fell in love with this look on Instagram Stella! I love the contrast of the classy skirt and the modern statement tee 🙂 You look gorgeous <3

Thanks a lot Carmen, I’m happy you like it! 😀
I love these colours together, or any mix of pastels really. This yellow works so perfectly with the gold hardware on your pink bag… the bag pulls everything together so beautifully. I can’t wait to see the rest of the vintage Chanel suit! What a fabulous find. That butter yellow colour is glorious. So nice to see you posting again! xxx
Thank you my darling Lisa! It feels great to be back! Can’t wait to visit your blog and read your latest posts in Paris. I am so glad to have met you there! have a great start to the weekend! xo
Love that skirt and how you styled it!
That skirt came out looking flawless! I love that high waist- also, it’s totally the same age as me (I’m a spring ’87 baby lol). I think the soft yellow and pink combo is super fun! I agree that there’s a tropical vibe to it. It actually reminds me of a color combo Rihanna would rock. 🙂
I’m currently still into all black on black (hah, no surprise there!) but I’m very fond of purple and red too. It’s a very bold combo. 🙂

Hi darling how are you? So nice to hear from you! Yes red and purple sounds like an amazing combo! I will think about trying it 🙂 I can never pull off a total black outfit though, and if I do, it would have nothing to do with your super cool total black looks! 😉 Happy Monday xx
I loved this combo and indeed there is something very tropical about these two colors together.. its like pineapple meets pink grapefruit 🙂
And OMG Stella, I would have never dared to alter vintage Chanel, however it was a good call.
Thank you Lorena, so glad you like it 🙂 Yes it was a bold move haha!
You look stunning babe!! I absolutely love the combination of the yellow and the pink! And I love your bag!! Hope you are doing very well as a wifey and I wish you a fabulous weekend! Xx Susanne – http://bagatyou.com
So glad you like it Susanne! Thank you and have an amazing week! xo
This is so beautiful Stella. Candy pink and yellow work so nice together. I wore my yellow skirt with striped pink and red crop top, but I see candy pink would work better.
And the slogan T-shirt with the vintage Chanel is all ?? I’m up to tweed and slogan T-shirt combination, too. Although I’m still looking for a perfect T-shirt. I should definitely check yours.
Love Veronika xxx
So glad you got it babe! Love the way you styled it with jeans 😀 Happy Monday and let’s find more cool slogan t-shirts! xoxo
Looking hot hot hot! Love the color combination. It’s super springy. And even though it’s chilly on this day, you totally bring the spring vibes with yellow and pink.
Thank you Yasmin, I’m glad you like it! xo
