As much as I love following fashion trends and experimenting with new styles, I always tend to return to the classics that never go out of style. These are the pieces that go with everything and are definitely a must-have for a classic and timeless wardrobe. A closet built on a streamlined selection of such items, makes day-to-day dressing infinitely easier. The following spring staples are the foundation of a classic wardrobe, anchoring whatever crazy, statement pieces you’ll find along the way.
These Are The Spring Staples You Need in Your Closet
Beige Trench Coat
This all-time-classic piece is either way a must-have, and spring is the best season to wear it. With one of these, you can wear earlier your favorite summer tops, and make the look spring-appropriate, by topping them with a trench coat!
Breton Top
A must-have in every woman’s wardrobe, the Breton top, or the marinière, will always be classic and perfect addition to your spring capsule wardrobe. You can wear it with cropped jeans and slingbacks, or with a pair of culottes, and pretty much with everything! Top it with the necessary accessories and you have a super stylish spring look for many occasions.
Culottes
A pair of culottes or cropped jeans lets you show some ankle (and your favorite shoes). If you are not ready to DIY cut your jeans, there are many options for all styles and body types to choose from.
Slingback Shoes
Choose one with block heel as it can take you from a day in the office to a night out for cocktails, in style and pain-free. A nude, black, or metallic pair will look great with all outfits, but I love the bold color palette too. The 60’s slingbacks are so hot right now!

I’m having serious envy over your shoes! Those are such a great investment piece; they literally go with almost every single thing. I need to make more use of my trench coats. I always forget that I have them, but they really pull a look together so effortlessly, as you show so well in these photos. I love any item of clothing that you can wear and re-wear and re-style, and everything here does just that. Beautiful! xx

Dearest Stella,
Once again, Life has stepped in and held up my quest for the perfect Breton top.
But at least I am still in touch with Life and the living, and I already have a Trench

Will be in touch soon, my Dear.

Haha that’s true! We will definitely need more ‘hands-free’ bags like cross body, backpacks, fanny packs š
I love trenches but I think I would go for shorter one. I know that now is more fashionable to wear longer ones, but I don’t care, I’m just obsessed with a little shorter ones. Also, I like the striped shirts, I’m just always concerned if I won’t look to “full” in them – I’m constantly on a diet, but oh God, it goes slowly š
Can you please let me know what lipstick are you wearing in these pictures?
Dorota

I had the same concern about stripes but it turned out that if the fit of the garment is ok, the print will work out well too. You never know if you don’t try, right? š The lipstick is MAC “Taupe” AA6. Thanks for reading Dorota! xoxo
Stella, Iām loving your spring staples. Your style is always so chic and elegant. And I have major shoe envy, those Chanel sling backs are so perfect! Hope you have a great week ahead š
